COLLUSION  BETWEEN  AUTO  INDUSTRY &   STATE  TAX  DIVISIONS  EXPOSED!!!

When should a sales tax be charged and under what circumstances?

BEJO's survey of New Car Sales Invoicing practices reveals that millions of dollars are being sent to State Treasuries, money collected on Factory Rebates and other Incentive Price Reduction gimmicks! These are dollars that never should be part of the selling price!

Question: How should a Sales Tax be charged? Answer: Only on the actual amount of the price paid!

Most dealers charge a Sales Tax on the entire price, then deduct the Rebate. This means that the Sales Tax on the $2,000 Rebate has been charged. The Rebate is a fictitious, funny number!  States are receiving taxes on more than the actual Sales Transaction -- a violation of the basic principal of sales tax collection. The funny numbers game in big ticket buying is giving dozens of states a windfall that is illegal, immoral and unethical!

North Carolina is a major player in this Sales Tax Scam! A survey of buyers of new cars in that state revealed 98% of the buyers couldn't understand the Bill of Sale and they assumed they did NOT pay tax on a Rebate that was never paid! States that require tax on the full amount of the transaction BEFORE applying incentives gimmicks like Rebates are ripping off the Buyer BIG TIME!

BUYER BEWARE:

If you are buying a new car, negotiate for the lowest price possible which includes any rebate gimmicks and demand that such rebates no longer appear on the invoice. You should only pay Sales Tax on the actual price you are paying for the vehicle. If they lose sales because you refuse to buy the car due to this rip-off, they will see to it that the law is changed!

DEMAND AN END TO PRICING GIMMICKRY AND SCAMS:

Write or call your State Representative TODAY and tell him you want this rip-off by the state stopped. Class action suits could be filed soon to force the return of millions of dollars in illegal taxes to Buyers. But don't wait for someone else to do something about this crooked practice. Write or call your political representative -- NOW!!

Does your Car Dealer and your State collect this kind of Sales Tax -- a Tax on Funny Numbers?

Is this going on in every transaction where Incentive Buying gimmicks are used?
Of course it is! Check it out! Everything you buy today is gimmicked so you have no idea what exactly the product costs!

Any purchase involving Rebates, etc is being "loaded" with Funny Numbers by the Dealer and the Detroit Automotive Manufacturer. They are NOT doing you a favor. All they need to do is set the price fairly rather than playing games with the numbers. Only YOU can Stop this SCAM!  Don't expect the politicians to stop it! They are part of the problem!
